Mary, I really appreciate your willingness to share so vulnerably with us as you write your story. I’m at a loss for words right now, but please know I’m grateful for all that you share with us. I recently bought Consolations and read the introduction last night, and look forward to reading more of it (as I always do with David Whyte).
Thanks Mary for your perspective on writing your story. It's helpful for me as I pick up my story after having put it down two years ago. Now, I feel strong enough. I think. I'm finding there are pieces of my story that have more layers to peel back that will be painful, but I will remember the foundation underneath me that won't let me fall into the abyss.
I wonder if you have read the book, Writing Hard Stories: Celebrated Memoirists Who Shaped Art from Trauma by Melanie Brooks? She asking them how they survived writing their hard story. I'm finding it insightful so far.
Thank you, Diana! You always share the best resources. I will add that book to my list. I look forward to reading it and to reading more of YOUR story. In regards to the abyss, I like to think of how our teacher Jim Finley speaks to the great abyss of Love. We are always held. Sending you love right back, Mary
Beautiful as always, Mary - your comments are so inspiring to me.
Thank you, friend. So grateful we walk this path together!
Mary, I love this! So beautifully written and well-said.
Wow, Caitlin. Thank you!

Thank you, Gina. We are braver together. <3
